7 Dead As Two Cults Clash In Lagos

What appeared to be a mere communication breakdown between two young men who would not bow to the superior arguments of each other has ultimately degenerated into a bloody cult clash in Ikorodu, Lagos yesterday, Wednesday evening.

The clash which ensued between two rival confraternities; KK and Eiye would later cause the death of 7 in what began with a stab.

While the raging massacre sent the town into jitters, Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bala Elkana, confirmed the story as being true. He went further to say that the men of the force reacted swiftly and the arrest of at least 10 suspects is the result of their timely intervention.

Elkana explained that the showdown was caused by a fierce argument between guys from the rival groups, one eventually stabbed the other and believed he was dead after he was covered in the pool of his own blood. And a retaliatory attack followed leading to a fatal twist of events that shook the bubbly town to its roots.

Though, the Police Special Strike Force still has its men on ground to make more arrests to stem the tide of lethal cultism in the town, inside sources insist the groups had promised to wage the war until one surrenders to the superiority of the other.

The Chairman, Ijede Local Council Development Area, Mr Fatiu Salisu, also corroborated the story by saying the clash had begun on Monday after the face-off between two guys leading to the stab, fortunately, the one stabbed is not dead but responding to treatment, but his group resorted to a revenge mission that has led to the deaths of no fewer than 7 persons.
