Enugu State HOA Speaker, Hon Ugwu, Unveils Trophy and Belt For 8th Edition Of Enugu State Boxing Talent Hunt Program
It is a remarkable day as the Speaker Enugu State House of Assembly,Rt Hon Uche C Ugwu unveiled the belt and Trophy for the 8th Edition of the Boxing talent hunt in the 17th LGAs of Enugu state.
This event took place at the upper auditorium of Enugu state House Of Assembly on Monday, 26th May, 2025.
The event was aimed at giving opportunities of talent display to younger boxers who have not reached the level of Amateur boxing stage yet and to open a door of opportunity to the ripped boxing elites for boxing market and and to enable them partake in the suitable level of boxing in any part of the world.
The event was kicked off with an opening prayer by Enugu East LGA representative at around 03:40pm immediately after the arrival of Enugu state speaker.
In his introductory speech, Rt Hon Ugwu, speaker Enugu state HOA thanked and encouraged organizers and sponsors of the boxing talent hunt program of this year.
Speaking to the general, Mazi Comr Ikechukwu Okoronkwo (Ikemba), also Nigeria Ex international boxer and ambassador for sports in boxing expressed gratitude to all present, especially all the dignitaries and maintained that this program has been a huge successful development to the state as the program led to the discovery of many boxing elites who is now representing Enugu state in the on-going national boxing in Abeokuta. One of which won a medal of honor. He promised not to relent in this good work maintaining that employment and revenue have been achieved chiefly through this program.
The Speaker and some dignitaries then unveiled the trophy and the belt and the speaker handed them over to the coordinator Enugu state boxing talent hunt, Mazi Comr Ikechukwu Okoronkwo.

The Chairman of Udi LGA Hon Hyginus Agu called the took permission from Chairman of Action committee on Sports Literacy Mazi Comr Ikechukwu Okoronkwo for his absence.
