President Bola Tinubu is currently at the 63rd independence
anniversary ceremony of the Republic of Benin.
Benin gained independence from France on August 1, 1960 —
two months before Nigeria.
Tinubu and other leaders are at Amazone Square, Cotonou, the
country’s capital, to celebrate the independence anniversary.
Tinubu arrived in Cotonou, Benin’s capital, on Tuesday
morning.
On Monday, Dele Alake, Tinubu’s special adviser on special
duties, communications and strategy, announced that the president is the
special guest of honour.
