The SA to the Governor of Cross River State; Comrade Ekpo Blessing had an emergency meeting with the State Attorney-General and commissioner for Justice, Hon Tanko Ashang Esq., The Director Public Prosecution, F I. Ititim Esq., and the Senior State Council one (1), Barr. (Mrs) Blessing Egwu to suggest ways of possible synergy and assistance in other to fastract the trial of all pending cases of rape in the state amidst the pandemic.
In the meeting, the trio assured me of their total commitments to the course as the level at which people are being raped in recent times is unbecoming and also increasing at an increasing rate; a situation they described as unacceptable and promise to do all they can to fight the scourge to a stand still in the state.
