Azubogu Media Office, on Thursday, 17th October 2024, issued a statement regarding the vacate Anambra South Senate seat.

In a release signed by Azubogu Media Office, ‘Due to ceaseless daily inquiries by a multitude of admirers, esteemed political allies and supporters of Hon. Engr. Chris Emeka Azubogu seeking to know his position on the Anambra South Senate seat which became vacant as a result of the unfortunate and regrettable demise of the Senator representing the Zone, (his brother and townsman) Distinguished Sen. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, CON, (may his soul rest in peace) it has become imperative for his media office to issue a public statement in that regards, viz:

‘The Azubogu Media Office wishes to deeply acknowledge the love and enormous enthusiasm of his supporters across the 7 LGAs in Anambra South Zone who are repeatedly calling to declare their unalloyed support for the anticipated Bye-election that will be conducted to fill the vacant position.

‘Hon. Azubogu feels deeply humbled and most grateful for the outpouring of love, expression of confidence in his tested and trusted ability to effectively represent the zone; (if given the opportunity) as well as the barrage of irrevocable pledges of support for his bid, should he decide to make himself available for the contest whenever it is eventually scheduled.

‘ Mr. Project (as he is fondly addressed) requests his Media Office to convey his deep-seated appreciation and firm assurances to the good people of Anambra South, especially his supporters across political divides who are anxiously awaiting his position on the subject matter. And to further assure them of his unwavering interest in serving the good people of the zone in any capacity they deem fit.

‘Finally, Azubogu Media Office wishes to observe that Mr. Project, being a native of Nnewi, (where Sen. Ubah hails from) is still in mourning mood over the loss of his townsman and brother. And that it will be un-Igbo for him to throw his hat in the ring or commence serious consultations as regards contesting the vacant seat while the remains of his brother is yet to be committed to mother earth. Especially since the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is yet to release a time-table for the anticipated Bye-election.

‘Accordingly, Mr Project implores all who wish him well and earnestly want him to re-contest the vacant Senate seat to be patient and remain prayerful until the appropriate time.
