Ose Okwordu Market Chairman Umeh, highlights Fire Safety Measures, Praises Gov. Soludo For Its Support To Traders

The Chairman of Ose Okwodo Market, Chief Ikechukwu Umeh, has outlined preventive measures to tackle fire outbreaks in the market.
Chief Umeh stated this during the interview with the newsmen in Onitsha, saying that are self conscious about anything that will be the cause of fire outbreak in the markey.
He highlighted the blessings of having the nearby River Niger, which provides a natural resource to combat potential fire incidents. “If there’s a fire outbreak, we can connect hoses to the river to extinguish it swiftly,” he said.
Chief Umeh also that the market strictly prohibits the use of charcoal for cooking and old zinc materials, reducing fire hazards.
To ensure a secure trading environment during the festive season, he noted that the market has a vigilant task force to monitor interactions between traders and customers. “We’ve also installed cameras to keep an eye on those attempting to steal under the guise of shopping,” he added.
Chief Umeh commended the Anambra State Governor, popularly known as Papa Ndi Anambra, for his dedication to improving infrastructure, including road projects that benefit traders and major markets across the state.
He also appreciated the Special Adviser to the Governor on Markets, Chief Everest Uba, for his conflict resolution initiatives. “Instead of resorting to court cases, he resolves issues amicably, ensuring that our markets remain peaceful and productive,” Umeh stated.
Chief Umeh, expressed his gratitude to the traders for their unwavering support and cooperation in ensuring the smooth running of market activities.
He commended their resilience and commitment to maintaining a clean and organized environment, emphasizing that their efforts have contributed significantly to the market’s growth and success.
