When Dominic Onyekachi was reading to his 6-year-old niece, he realized that many of her books were foreign and had very little African representation.
In May, he launched Akiddie, a web-based platform that provides access to African storybooks for children like his niece.
“More children should have characters to look up, characters that have their hair, look like them and share their culture,” he said. Akiddie has 21 books available, and five are free.
