The suspension of the 12 traditional rulers in Anambra who went on a courtesy visit to the presidential Villa Abuja to thank President Buhari on some of the ongoing upgrade of infrastructure in southeast is causing crisis in almost all the communities.
In Aguleri, the two Igwes involved in the Abuja trios were said to have been sacked and new Igwes nominated and issued with Certificates of Recognition.
But in Umumbo autonomous community, Ayamelum LGA the case is not the same. Attempt to replace HRH Igwe Simon Ikechukwu Chidubem who was one of the suspended monarchs is chasing so much tension in the community.
AIF Media gathered that one Anselem Obodoeze who is parading himself as the Igwe-Elect of Umumbo and the President General of the community were arrested and detained by the police.
It was gathered that Igwe Simon Ikechukwu Chidubem obtained a court order from the Anambra state high court, Otuocha which restrained the state govt and his agents from sacking the monarch and or issuing a Certificate of Recognition to anyone pending the determination of the suit.
This order was disobeyed leading to the arrest of the purported Igwe-Elect and the towns PG by the police.
It is unacceptable when govt disobeys court decisions that do not favour them. We must at all times respect court orders.
AIF Media learned that the Umumbo leaders have been granted bail this evening and asked by the police hierarchy to go and maintain peace in their community.
