Ekwunife receives Obi, as the Nigerian Senate holds Valedictory Session In Honour of Late Senator Rose Oko

The Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Senator Uche Ekwunife on Tuesday received the Vice Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the last election and former Governor of Anambra State, His Excellency, Mr Peter Obi (Okwute) at the Nigerian Senate.
Obi was at the Senate chambers for the valedictory session held in honour of Late Senator Rose Oko whom until her death on the 23rd of March 2020 represented Cross River North Senatorial District in the upper legislative chamber.
Rendering her valedictory remarks in honour of her late colleague, Senator Ekwunife welcomed Mr Peter Obi who was present at the red chambers to equally honour the Late Nigerian Senator. She described Late Senator Rose Oko as a Sister and one of the finest Senators to have graced the hallowed chambers of the Senate.
Ekwunife further described Late Senator Oko as a consummate academic and a public servant per excellence, whose commitment to her responsibilities as a Legislator were most oustanding.
She noted that the late Lawmaker’s death is a lesson on the emptiness and vanity of life and a reminder that we should, just like the Late Senator was, be kind to people we meet, because we do not know when we shall return to our maker.
Concluding, Senator Ekwunife prayed for the peaceful repose of Late Senator Rose Oko whom she noted would be sorely missed by all who came across her charming, kind and generous personality.
