Ahead of the December 18th Local Government Elections in Abia state, and in furtherance of his LGA wide consultation, Hon Edward Kalu Okocha, the Ohafia local government chairmanship hopeful has taken his consultation to the leadership of PDP in the five wards of Ohafia Udumeze.
The Ohafia Chairmanship hopeful, assured the party leaders of his readiness to serve in this capacity. He highlighted his qualifications, experience, exposure, commitment and consistency to the party as some of the qualities the puts him ahead of other Aspirants.
Edward stated that he believes in the youths and women affirmative in politics. He also assured the delegates that his youthful age will help him galvanize the resources available in the local Government to empower the youths, women and SMEs through micro credit facilities. This he believes will help shore up the IGR of the local Council.
The Chairmanship Aspirant made a commitment to run an open door policy when elected, a policy thrust that will give room to every one irrespective of gender, party affiliation or social classification to bring their good ideas on board for the effective running of the government.
He assured the party leaders of his continuous commitment and support to the party and the leadership when elected, and to help make the party stronger in the local Government and positioned to win more elections.
Speaking on behalf of the other chairmen, Engr Chikezie Ukagha, Ohafor ward PDP chairman , described Edward as a party man that has made visible commitment,contributions, shown consistency and made sacrifices for the development of the party. He went ahead to pointicate that the youthfulness of Hon Edward is an added advantage to his educational qualification, experience, reach and contacts which is needed in a local government chairmanship of now. He asked his follow delegates to look beyond rhetoric and vote for this young man during the primary election.
The meeting had in attendance Lady Ngozi Eni,the PDP LGA Women leader, the five ward chairmen of PDP in Ohafia and their entire executives and other delegates and stakeholders from Ohafia.
