To Stop IPOB From Operation, Wike Sets To Meet With Youth Leaders, Community Heads Today

In a bid to stop the activities of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra in Rivers State, the state governor, Nyesom Wike, has scheduled a meeting with all community and youth leaders on Monday (today).
Ahead of the meeting, Wike appealed to leaders of the various ethnic groups in the state to prevail on their members to refrain from provocative actions capable of breaching the peace of the state.
The governor, in a state-wide broadcast on Friday, urged residents of the state to respect the sensibilities of Rivers people and residents.
He said, “I will be meeting with all leaders of youth groups and community development committees in the state on Monday, 26, October, 2020 to take holistic measures to counter and stop all IPOB activities in Rivers State.
“We appeal to leaders of the various ethnic groups, residents in the state to ensure that their members respect the sensibilities of our people and refrain from provocations and acts of hooliganism that could breach peace and security in the state.”
