Christian Eriksen says his decision to run down his contract at Tottenham made him a “black sheep” at the Premier League club.
Sky Sports says Arsenal is still interested in Christian Eriksen after Xhaka’s refusal to trade with him. Inter Milan confirmed through one of their managers that he is on the market and the Gunners are considering signing him.
Eriksen is almost out of Inter and Arsenal could be the trigger for his return to the Premier League. The Gunners have had him on their agenda for weeks now and ‘Sky Sports’ says this has not changed even though Xhaka does not want to trade with him.
Inter Milan have already announced that the footballer is on the market, which could facilitate his sale. He has a market value of around 66 million euros, although his downfall in the last few seasons could mean a reduction in his price.
If he landed in London, he would become the ideal replacement for Mesut Özil, who is not registered in either the Premier League or the Europa League and could change colours soon. In fact, the Dane is four years younger and also has a lot of experience in England.
One of the keys to seeing how this operation evolves will be the start of the winter transfer market. If Arsenal are serious about going after him, they may make a formal offer. In the meantime, he will remain committed to Inter until 2024.
