This is what Gburugburu wants yearly as pension
Governors take home basic salary of
2.22 million a month.
This gives you N26,640,000 per year.
Based on the bill, an ex-governor will be entitled to the following every year:
1. Pension = N26,640,000
2. House maintenance allowance = 200% of annual basic salary. N26,640,00 x 2 =N53,280,000
3. Vehicle maintenance allowance = 200% of annual basic salary. N26,640,00 x 2 =N53,280,000
4. Medical allowance not exceeding N12,000,000
5. Free medical care for him and his wife
6. Adequate security. let’s say N5,000,000
7. Salaries of three staff @N100,000 each= 100,000 x 3 = N300,000 X 12 = N3,600,000
8. Total = N153,800,000 (one hundred and fifty three million, eight hundred thousand Naira only.
Then 3 vehicles every 4 years.
Let’s say each will cost N50,000,000
= N50,000,000 x 3 = N150,000,000 (One hundred and fifty million Naira only.
There will soon be 5 ex Governors in Enugu
1. Jim Nwobodo
2. Okwy Nwodo
3. Chimaroke Nnamani
4. Sullivan Chime
5. And soon- Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi
So in a year the state would spend
5 X N153,800,000 = N769,000,000 (Seven hundred and sixty nine million Naira) on five former governors alone.
N384,500,000 (Three hundred and eighty four million five hundred thousand naira) on the former deputies
That is :
N769 000 000 +
N384 500 000
= N1, 153, 500,000 (one billion, one hundred and fifty three million, five hundred thousand naira) every year.
Then for vehicles every for years:
For former governors = N 150,000,000 x 5 = N750,000,000 (seven hundred and fifty million)
For former deputies = N100,000,000 x 5 =N 500,000,000 (five hundred million naira).
Total = N1,250,000,000 (one billion, two hundred fifty million)
