The entire Representative of Ebonyi State Association of Town Unions (EBSATU), Anambra State Chapter, the President General , Ambassador Igwe Goodluck Moses has advised and cautioned Ebonyi State indigenous living in Anambra State to always shun violence and crime , including anything capable of bringing shame to both Ebonyi people and their State by extension.
Making this closure while addressing their members , during the inauguration cum launching of the constitution of the group , held at Holiday Resort, along Onitsha-Asaba expressway, Ogbaru Local Government Area, Anambra State , on Sunday, recently , the president-general said their target was to know every movement and businesses of all the Ebonyi State people living in Anambra State and to bring them under one fold as brothers from the same parents
In his welcome address, the Anambra state President of the Union, Ambassador Igwe Prnce Moses said the aims and objective of the Association are to ensure unity and peaceful co-existence among all the Ebonyians resident in Anambra state and its environs and to collaborate with the law enforcement agency and Anambra state government to combat crime, to protect the citizenry and promote the interest of every Ebonyians who may be a victim of the circumstances, among other things,, added that their aims and objective as enshrined in their Constitution was to ensure unity and peaceful co-existence among all the Ebonyians residing within Anambra state and its environ.
Ambassador Moses also requested for the total collaboration of Ndi-Ebonyi to his executive, tasking his brothers to always collaborate also with the law enforcement agencies, Anambra state government to combat crimes, to protect and promote the interest of any Ebonyians who may be a victim of the circumstance.
Remarking that the task before his executives are tremendous as regards achieving their objectives, the President General in Diaspora mentioned amongst other things, that finance, ultra-modern secretariat, and vehicle for easier mobilization have remained their greatest challenge. He, therefore, appealed to members to assist the Union to achieve its target. He called all chairmen of various communities based in Anambra state to come forward and identify with the Union.
The President further mentioned some of the challenges facing their Association to include and not limited to finance, ultra-modern secretariat, a vehicle for easier mobilization, as he appealed to members to assist the Union to achieve their target.
In his speech , the Vice President of the Association, Chief Julius Ozeh ( Uloelu N’ Akaeze) said that the Association covered the 13 Local Government Area in Ebonyi state and expressed joy that the association has created unity and love among all the Ebonyians residing in Anambra state even as he applauded the Anambra state Governor, Chief Willie Obiano for his love for none indigenes, particularly Ebonyians and assured him of their continued support to his administration.
Contributing , the Chief launcher of the event, Chief Monday Nwokoye ( Ikemba 1 Okpoto) and also the SSA to the Gov. Willie Obiano on Security Matters advise the Ebonyi indigenes to eschew violencein their living, and also to be self-reliant rather engage in acts that could jeopardise their future .
Chief Nwokoye also advice the Ebonyi indigenes in Anambra State to desist from unlawful and babalic acts added that they should be law abiding citizen.
SP Ugochukwu Ugbo, the Divisional Police Officer, DPO Okpoko police Division who is also an indigene of Ebonyi State, advised all Ebonyi state indigenes living in Anambra State to always do away with anything that could incriminate them, noting that crimes and criminality destroy one’s life, and also advised the elder to warn their children of the consequences of engaging in crime and violence..
Another Ebony officer , SP Ifeanyi Eburu , Divisional Police Officer, DPO Onitsha Central Police Station urged the Ebonyi indidigene to be proud of being Ebony Citizenry and also yo be hardworking and should not engage themselves in any form of crime.
The event attracted the bigwigs of Ebonyi State indigenes residing in Anambra state, which include; SA to Governor Obiano on Security, Chief Monday Nwaokoye (Ikemba 1 of Okpoto), DPO Central Police Station, Onitsha, DPO SP Ifeanyi Iburu, and many other dignitaries.
