Newly Elected Rotary Club President Releases Agenda Of His Tenure

The new president of Rotary Club of Okota, Rotarian Taiwo Akanimodo, has released his agenda to be executed during his tenure.

Akanimodo succeeds Rotarian Gabriel Ogugua as the new Year Change Maker President (CMP).

According to him, his administration has 7 areas of focus to be executed during his term in office.
He said each schedule is in line with Rotary International monthly theme, saying the club intends to partner with cooperate organisations to seek financial support for the projects.

“Being in the Tree Planting month of July, we will set off with planting of trees in the 3rd week of this month within our axis and also reconstruct a roundabout for easy movement of road users. By the month of August which is our membership month, RC Okota would be having a road show to partner men and women with dignity within the community canvass against child abuse, rape and domestic violence. We will also have a peace conflict seminar where important guest speakers would inspire and restore hope in challenged people.

“Furthermore, part of our area of focus is water and sanitation as we will construct toilets at two public schools and provide water tanks. We will indulge in paternal and child health, provided for the mother and baby and disburse maternity foams to PHCs. On education, we would be having the maiden edition of spelling bee in promoting children’s efficiency in the use of words and on this note, we will elect our first youth Rotary president.

“Moreover, under economy and community development, we will organise skill acquisition programmes, donate eye glasses and marker boards to schools and establish more interact club in schools. Lastly, our yearly family of rotary programme would be held, monthly training lecture for RC Okota would be held and our End of the Year socials would be held till the end of my rotary tenure.”

Also speaking, the immediate past president, Rotarian Gabriel Ogugua, declared that Rotary Club of Okota members are ready to synergise with the new president as the humanitarian services they engage in entail selflessness and steadfastness, promising to cooperate Akanimodo to attain success in his administration.

He appreciated the efforts of all members for believing in him when elected, noting that his administration would not have been successful without their support.
