APC crisis: We’ve started counting our victories – Gov Fintiri

~ Says opposition party in deep, irredeemable chaos

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has disclosed that the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP), in Adamawa State has started counting its victories ahead of the 2023 general election following the deep seated crisis that envelops the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC), in the state.

Fintiri who made the statement at the Yola international airport upon his return to the state after a prolonged working tour, said, a party that cannot organize a hitch free ward congresses is not worth its name.

“We are back and we have already started counting our victories and our successes towards 2023.

” As you know, the other party has just started their ward congresses and they are totally in shambles.

“They are in deep crisis that they will never recover. After all, we know, they are not a political party,” Fintiri said.

The opposition party in the state is smarting from a recent crisis that led to the suspension of the caretaker chairman of APC in Yola South local government, Sulaiman Adamu.

The party also sets up a disciplinary committee to investigate allegation of gross indiscipline against some of its stakeholders including immediate past governor of the state, Muhammad Umaru Jibrilla Bindow.

The action of the party was sequel to a viral audio clip in which some stakeholders were heard raining insults on president Muhammadu Buhari and even wishing him death.

The meeting was attended by the immediate past governor of the state, Muhammad Umaru Jibrilla Bindow, the immediate past speaker of Adamawa State house of assembly, Kabiru Mijinyawa, and a former commissioner of local government and chieftaincy affairs, Mustapha Barkindo Aliyu Mustapha.

Others are; Yusha’u Adamu, a former adviser under Governor Muhammad Umaru Jibrilla Bindow’s led APC government, and a former administrator of Namtari development area, Abubakar Sirimbai among others.

The conduct of the recent ward congresses has thrown the opposition party in some local governments in disarray, leading to the defection of a state lawmaker, Musa Bororo to the ruling PDP.

The congresses also led to mutual distrust and serious cracks between stakeholders in Yola South which the former governor sought to address during the said I’ll fated meeting.
