Umuoji Improvement Union of Nigeria, Awka Branch Congratulates Soludo, Ibezim

The entire members of Umuoji Improvement Union of Nigeria (UIUN), Awka Branch, have joined all men and women of goodwill to congratulate the Governor-Elect, Professor Chukwuma Soludo and the Deputy Governor-Elect, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim on their victory at the just concluded gubernatorial election in Anambra State held on Saturday, 6 November 2021.

In a statement signed by the President of UIUN, Awka branch, Mr Udoka Brown Chukelu and the Secretary of the branch, Sir Celestine Nkulume and made available to newsmen in Awka shortly after their Monthly Meeting, the group said that the outcome of the election was not surprising to them as they had known before hand that, APGA, being the ruling party in the state and with so much support base and appeal, especially at the grassroots level would emerged victorious at the Poll. They expressed gratitude to God for the peaceful conduct of the election.

According to the group, the Incumbent Governor, Chief Willie Obiano made the right choice in choosing Professor Chukwuma Soludo as his successor, stating that results collated by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) showed that Soludo was the people’s choice, even as they showered encomiums on the Electoral Umpire over what they described as tremendous successes recorded during the election, adding that there was so much improvement on their side and asked them to sustain the tempo.

UIUN, Awka Branch while commending INEC and security agencies, thanked President Muhammad Buhari for allowing the candidates to test their popularity without any form of intimidation and harassment as well as for allowing INEC to carry out the task given to them without undue interference and meddlesomeness.

They lauded the Executive Governor of Anambra State, His Excellency, Chief Dr Willie Obiano for living up to his name, Akpokue dike global by creating the enabling environment for voters to exercise their franchise.

The group unanimously prayed for the success of Soludo as the next Governor of Anambra State as well as successful ending of the current administration.
