Anambra Election: INEC Fails To Present True Copies Of Election Result
Anambra state governorship election held on November 6 and 9 2021 can be said to be a fraud. INEC has been doing all that’s necessary to cover the fraud perpetrated in favour of APGA.
It is unfortunate that up till date INEC has refused to issue a certified true copies of all the results collated by the electoral commission from polling units to state.
When INEC refused to issue the CTC after APC and other parties in the election duly requested for it, APC made a formal application to the tribunal which was granted. Ruling on Andy Uba’s petition, on December 9, Chairman of the tribunal, Justice D. Mohammed, said having considered the application and satisfied, ordered INEC to allow APC inspect the election materials.
But sadly, just yesterday, Tuesday INEC at Awka in a press briefing by the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Dr. Nkwachukwu Orji, alleged that materials used for the election were not returned by some of their adhoc staff.
Addressing the press, the REC disclosed that it has withheld the allowances of over 630 adhoc staff of the November 6, 2021 governorship election in Anambra state over alleged missing materials.
He said INEC took the decision following failure of the officers to return some of the devices and materials given to them for the exercise.
If the same materials that the tribunal ordered INEC to allow APC to inspect are allegedly not returned by some adhoc staff that took part in the election, then the election and its outcome CANNOT stand.
No one should cry foul if the tribunal nullifies the election over so many irregularities that are presently being challenged at the tribunal.
