Gov. Jide Sanwoolu – Earlier today, we took possession of a 110-bed isolation facility, newly constructed by GTBank in collaboration with Lagos state Government in the main bowl of the Mobolaji Olufunsho Johnson Stadium, Onikan.
This make shift structure is a world-class facility which was achieved within a week, was built by contractors at multilevel who worked tirelessly to put it up within the shortest time possible. It is also fully equipped with world-class equipment and medical supplies to aid the delivery of adequate healthcare to patients infected with COVID-19.
I am highly elated that GTBank recognized the need for this important collaboration. This kind gesture is a huge reflection of the can-do spirit of Nigerians, especially the brand GTBank.
We are going through tough times globally, and what we are doing in Lagos is to develop excess capacity in the event of an escalation in the number of COVID-19 cases within the state.
It is pertinent to mention that we have started witnessing improvement in the recovery of some affected patients currently been treated at the Infectious Disease Hospital (IDH) Yaba, and we are hopeful that a number of patients would be discharged ASAP.
Whilst we continue to build capacity to enhance our response strategy, we are also working assiduously to stem the transmission rate of the virus within the state, especially by recent returnees to the country.
I hereby use this opportunity to thank the staff and management of GTBank for this innovative and selfless approach to curb the spread of the deadly virus across the state.
My appreciation also goes to individuals and corporate bodies who have reached out and assisted us in different ways.
And to you dear Lagosians, thank you all for your kind words of encouragement. We are all in this together, and together we shall prevail.
