The Deputy Chief Whip and member representing Onitsha South 2 Constituency in Anambra State House of Assembly, Honourable Beverly Ikpeazu Nkemdiche has called on women and human rights organizations to rise against all manner of violence meted to women in the society to arrest the ugly act.

Correspondent Chukwuemeka Modilim reports that the legislator made the call while reacting to a video trending online where a woman was stripped naked by some villagers in Aguleri for allegedly committing adultery.

Honourable Nkemdiche who described the scene as barbaric condemned the act in its entirety.

She observed that the mob took the law into their own hands by parading the woman naked instead of treating the matter legally .

The lawmaker who noted that such act dehumanised womanhood, condemned the inhuman treatment meted on the woman and commended the Anambra State Police Command for rescuing the woman from the mob.

She called on law enforcement agencies to enforce the law on violence against women to put a final stop to it
