Umahi’s Sack: What Is The True Justice For Umahi – Ex International Boxer
Nigeria Ex International Boxer and Ambassador for Sports, Comr Ikechukwu Okoronkwo has explained what the true just of Umahi should be.
Recall that some days back, Gov David Umahi of Ebonyi state was sacked by the court as the governor of Ebonyi because he joined APC party after winning the election under PDP party.
Mazi Okoronkwo talking to newsmen in his resident in Enugu on Friday, reacted to this judgement. Mazi Okoronkwo who is after the justice and peace of the people maintained that the supreme court should have the final say on Umahi’s case.
“True Justice demand that Engr David Umahi must remain as Governor of Ebonyi State in the South Eastern State of Nigeria until all his appeal speak otherwise” Mazi Okoronkwo said
Mazi Comr Ikechukwu Okoronkwo gave reasons why Engr David Umahi must continue his Work as the Governor of Ebonyi State until Supreme Court decide otherwise.
Mazi Ikechukwu Okoronkwo maintained that In true Democracy the Judicially have stages of affirmation of Judgement before execution of Order. That it is only when there is no appeal against the First Judgement against Engr David Umahi,that the order can be executed.
But in Ebonyi State case Engr David Umahi the Governor has appeal against the judgment claiming that the Justice was not done.
“It is now the duty of the superior court to listen to his augment even though Gov David Umahi provoke most of us by Joining APC not minding the faith and hope South East people have in him as a working Governor, but as Sports Ambassador and humanitarian worker I Mazi Comr Ikechukwu Okoronkwo will speak the truth”
“Considering the media attack by Gov Wike the Governor of River State who is a PDP member against Gov David Umahi, it is an indication that there could be a crisis within the party that triggered Gov David Umahi defection to APC”
“The Constitution made it clear on how one can defect to another party after winning election with a particular party”
“In democracy there are stages that made court a place for fair hearing and justice for peace and unity, These stages are;
1. First court Magistrate Court
2. Second Court High Court
3. Third Court Court of Appeal
4. Fourth Court Supreme Court which is the final Stage”
“Therefore in Engr David Umahi’s case INEC must wait for the decision of supreme court. I am very much concerned about Ebonyi State case because I was born and brought up from Abakaliki and i was discovered to be a Boxer as a student during my Secondary School at Abakaliki therefore Ebonyi State deserve better treatment”.
“I am enjoying the good road network from Ebonyi State government whenever I am driving through Ebonyi State good road to Abia State during my Grassroot Boxing talent hunt exercise in 17 LGA’S of Abia state. It is this same embattled Engr David Umahi that is doing all these solid roads which most of us are enjoying”
I feel that Engr David Umahi was not tough enough to stand the fight in PDP and that could be one of the reason he left PDP for APC. But in Democracy the law protects the weak, the Poor, the rich, the strong and common man”
“This is the justice in fair hearing” Mazi Okoronkwo said.
