GOV. SOLUDO INAUGURATES THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT SERVICE COMMISSION TASK THEM TO BREATH LIFE BACK INTO THE SERVICE
The Executive Governor of Anambra State Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo CFR has inaugrated the Local Government Service Commission.
The event took place at the Governor’s Lodge Amawbia.
The Commission has Chief Vin Ifeanyi Ezeaka as Chairman, while the Secretary of the commission Bar.Sam Nwatah is the Secretary. Other members includes;
1) Hon. Azubuike Okoye: Member
2) Mr Edwin Uchenna Okafor: Member
3) Prof (Mrs) Ngozi Christiana Ewuim: Member
4) Mrs Anthonia Tabansi-Okoye: Member
Governor Soludo speaking shortly after the event congratulates the members of the commission for joining the solution team, the disruptive team and commiserate with them for the task ahead.
Governor Soludo charges the members of the Commission to go down and help in rebuilding the entire Local Government system.
“The Local Government System largely is in existence but not anywhere where and what it ought to be, we are committed in getting the Local Government ready to deliver effective service to the people by devolving a lot of responsibilities down to the Local Government. That is the tier of government closest to the people in terms of governmental structure. If it doesn’t work, it is difficult for things to work. ” Soludo concluded.
Earlier in his speech the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftancy Affairs Mr TonyCollins Nwabunwanne thanked Mr Governor for keeping to his manifesto of bringing reforms to the Local Government system in order to increase productivity and instill discipline into the system.
The Chairman of the Commission speaking on behalf of the members thanked the Governor for considering them worthy to serve and promised to key into his vision to enable him achieve the mission he had over the years.
Those present during the event are; the Speaker Anambra State house of Assembly Rt. Hon Uchenna Okafor, Deputy speaker Rt. Hon. Pascal Agbodike, Secretary to the State Government Prof Solo Chukwulobelu among others.
