Anambra Governor’s wife, Mrs Nonye Soludo has hailed the efforts of individuals and groups in the front line of girl child advocacies in the state.
Mrs Soludo, who stated this in Awka, while assessing reports of individuals and groups who have been leading movements for the protection of children, especially the girl child across the state, described such efforts as a huge sacrifice for society’s good.
She observed that such network of people who share common zeal fuels every other campaign to entrench the right society, where children live their potential without any form of social, economic and cultural hindrance.
The governor’s wife also reserved special praise for those who spread the girl child campaign on the recently commemorated International Day of the Girl Child, especially those who went across schools to interact with teen girls as well as those who led the “Pad a Girl Initiative”.
Mrs Soludo re-emphasized that everyone must show determination to the cause if the current society is sincere about defeating every stumbling block in the way of child development.
She also promised to keep engaging with the right voices, to strengthen the movement, and help every Anambra child thrive at their own pace.
The governor’s wife also reassured that her husband’s administration is instituting child-friendly policies to help Anambra children compete excellently with their peers elsewhere. Continue reading
