Lagos Guber: What Lagos Police Said Concerning MC Oluomo’s Threats Against Igbos
The Lagos State Police Command has reacted to threats against the Igbo issued by the chairman of the Lagos State Parks Management Committee, Musiliu Akinsanya, aka MC Oluomo, ahead of the gubernatorial election.
Lagos Commissioner of Police Idowu Owohunwa gave a reaction while appearing on Arise Television’s Newsday program on Friday.
DAILY POST recalls that MC Oluomo had, in viral videos, threatened Igbo in Lagos who will not vote for his party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, to stay at home during tomorrow’s governorship election.
“We have begged them. If they don’t want to vote for us, it is not a fight. Tell them, mama Chukwudi, if you don’t want to vote for us, sit down at home,” he said.
Owohunwa in his reaction said the video clips are being reviewed and the threats are subjects of ongoing investigation.
He said: “Yes, I can confirm that all the video clips are being reviewed. The statement, the assertions, the threats are subjects of ongoing investigation. And as we proceed, if facts are established against the provision of the law, nobody is above the law in this country. Our existence is regulated by law and we are bound together by law. The political process is regulated by law and nobody can be above that. So if these allegations are established, you can be sure that appropriate criminal and legal proceedings will be initiated against the specific actors.” Continue reading
