Governor Ganduje Relaxes Lockdown In Kano


Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State on Saturday announced relaxation of the presidential lockdown imposed on the state.


Ganduje announced two free days for purchases during the lockdown period.
The governor listed the lockdown free days as Mondays and Thursdays, from 10am to 4pm.


Last Monday, President Muhammadu Buhari, had ordered the total lockdown of Kano for two weeks during his national broadcast concerning the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.


Ganduje was said to have also disclosed that no markets would be allowed to open except supermarkets.
According to him, the list of the supermarkets would be announced on local radio stations.

He noted further that, only Yankaba Market, where perishable items are sold, and Yan Lemo Market, would be allowed to operate on Mondays and Thursdays 10am to 4pm.
