A Letter of Gratitude to Sullivan Chime As he Celebrates His Birthday

Dear Sullivan I. Chime,
Time they say is indeed a wonderful enigma and it has a way of making heroes we must always learn to remember.
Though you are not a fan of the media but it is with utmost humility, a great privilege and patriotic disposition that I am compelled to write this short letter to you on this auspicious occasion of your 61st birthday celebration.
Looking back at Enugu a decade and half years ago, you see a city faced with a high rate of insecurity which made her to exist in a shadow of herself. Lives were snuffed out of people on daily basis. Night life was a mere dream. People were made to live in fear but hopeful of a city they can proudly call their own.
Your ascendency as the governor of the state did not only bring a new vista in the lives of the people but also made an enviable image to the state.
You were single-minded, resolute and made genuine efforts in entrenching a positive culture of investing the funds of the state in projects that directly affected the Lives of Ndi Enugu positively.
You moved Enugu to the next level and made it a haven.
Your were never boastful about your outstanding achievements; you never wasted our resources in advertising your achievements. Your were indeed a Silent Achiever.
The dream of a greater Enugu were realised under your watch. Truly in your years, Enugu was invisibly in the hands of God.
Its barely 5 years since you left office but the legacy you left is still fresh in our thoughts, indelible in our minds and visible for our eyes to see.
Thank you for the 8 years of laudable achievements;
Thank you for the 8 years of inclusive governance and;
thank you for the 8 years of quality leadership.
Thank you for giving Enugu the best; thank you for giving Enugu your best.
History will never forget you.
Despite all odds sir, you still remain an ” EZIGBOTE and OKPOTOKPO member.
In addy to you sir, I pray that the Good Lord that brought you thus far will grant you good health and longevity. You will forever enjoy the fruits of your labour. And above all, the wind will always be @ your back to bear you witness.
I wish you well in your future political endeavours.
61st natalis beati celebrationem!
Yours truly,
Esomchi, Ifeanyi.
