The saving hands of God was at work today at the popular Arroma Junction, Awka,Anambra State as a tanker driver averted scores of death and injuries by diverting his vehicle to the pavement of Arroma flyover where it fell side ways.
No life was lost, as only the driver and conductor sustained minor injuries.
When a crew from Anambra Broadcasting Service, arrived the scene of the incident, it was gathered that the vehicle with the registration number ‘UKP771XA’ was conveying a soap oil from Amansea to Onitsha, before the incident took place.
Speaking to journalists, the tanker driver, Mr. Kevin Ogu from Imo State, who thanked God that no life was lost, blamed a driver of a fully loaded bus for stoping in front of him after the traffic regulator from Anambra State Traffic Management Agency had given them signal to move.
He said that after he quickly tried several attempts to stop his vehicle, his brake failed him, adding that instead of diverting the tanker at the busy park at the junction which could cause much death, he moved it to the pavement of the flyover.
