Amaechi spent Rivers money to make Buhari President, but he has no project in the South – Wike

The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, on Saturday lambasted his predecessor, Hon. Rotimi Amaechi, calling him a bootlicker to Northerners.
It will be remembered that Amaechi and Wike, who were once members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), became enemies in the buildup to the 2015 general elections.
That was a time when Amaechi, who was the Governor of Rivers then, defected to the All Progressives Congress, because he had a presidential ambition, which he would not be able to accomplish under the PDP with former President Goodluck Jonathan in the race.
In the APC, Buhari lost the primary election to President Muhammadu Buhari and he was made his campaign Director General.
Today, Wike accused Amaechi of funding Buhari’s 2015 presidential campaign with Rivers State’s money and resources.
The reason for Wike’s outburst, According to DAILY POST, is because of an interview which the Minister of Transportation granted on AIT, wherein he was reported to have said he would not take a road or rail project to Rivers because of insecurity.
Wike said Amaechi was running to Northern states, which he described as the home of insurgency and banditry, to execute projects, wondering why Rivers State that is more secure is now being left out of developmental road projects.
He said Amaechi has not implemented any project in his home state, despite spending its money on the APC campaigns in 2015.
