Anambra Airport Upgrade: Igbo Leader Lauds Obiano, Says the Governor is Finishing on a Good Note.
Chief Rommy Ezeonwuka (OGILISI IGBO) has commended Gov. Willie Obiano over what he described as “8 years of unprecedented growth, development and quality leadership”. The Igbo leader made this known today at Anambra International Airport Umueri, where the first Boeing 737-700 aircraft landed safely days after approval from the NCAA.
You may recall that the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) had few days ago, approved Anambra State government to operate Boeing 737-700 aircraft and its equivalent at Anambra International Cargo and Passenger Airport, Umueri. While describing the airport project as the best parting gift the Governor gave to Ndi Anambra, Chief Ezeonwuka thanked God who made the dream a reality through Governor Obiano.
In his words, “ Governor Obiano has written his name in the hearts of Ndi Anambra by delivering the Airport just as he promised. Generations to come will always remember Akpokuedike for this great feat and we thank God for everything. The upgrade of the Airport by the NCAA implies that bigger aircrafts that can carry upto three hundred and fifty passengers per time can now land or take off from the airport just as we have witnessed today.” He prayed God to grant the Governor longevity so as to enjoy the fruits of his hard-work in Anambra State.
Chief Titus Anigbogu (Ugwumba Agugata), Ogene Nanka, Obi Okoye, Venerable Okwuosa and others were also present today at the Airport when the Boeing 737-700 aircraft landed at the newly built International Airport in Anambra State.
