ANAMBRA: Gov. Obiano Reappoints Anti Ngige Caretaker Committee In Alor

Finally, Gov Obiano Dumps Ngige.
…reappoints anti Ngige Caretaker Committee in Alor.
…refuses to issue Cartificate of Recognition to the new Igwe-Elect.
If there is anyone regretting to have assisted gov Obiano when he needed help most, it is Dr Chris Nwabueze Ngige. All the efforts of the minister of Labour to be in the good books of gov Obiano in order to curry some favours from him especially on the lingering crisis in his home town Alor, has not yielded any positive result.
Ngige is currently regretting coming to the aid of the governor to fight Prince Engr Arthur Eze where he helped to block some traditional rulers from meeting with President Buhari few weeks ago. It was Ngige who rose in support of the governor and used his contacts at the Presidency to block the 12 monarchs that accompanied Arthur Eze to meet with Mr President.
Ngige further went into a media war with Arthur Eze in support of gov Obiano. But how has the governor paid Ngige back after the battle? As usual, Agu Awka betrayed the minister.
Ngige needed only two things from gov Obiano;
1. Enforcement of the Appeal court judgement that sacked the Town Union Caretaker Committee of Alor and recognition of the election of Alor People’s Assembly won by High Chief Uzoma Igbonwa.
2. Issuing of Certificate of Recognition to the new Igwe-Elect in Alor.
Gov Obiano has refused to enforce the judgement of the Appeal court which recognised High Chief Uzoma Igbonwa as the President General of Alor People’s Assembly. On 5th February, 2019, the High Court of Anambra State delivered a judgement that disbanded Alor Caretaker Committee and ordered the electoral committee of Alor People’s Convention (Now: Alor People’s Assembly) to go ahead and conclude the electoral process it had started. The electoral committee fully complied with the judgement of the High Court by promptly conducting the court-ordered election which produced the elected officers of Alor Town Union Government. (See the attached Judgement of the High Court). The state government appealed the judgement and on 24th March, 2020, the Appeal Court sitting in Awka dismissed the appeal by the state govt.
But the governor has refused to enforce this judgement, rather he continued to renew the tenure of the Caretaker Committee. Just yesterday, the Alor Caretaker Committee was issued yet another Letter of Appointment after the last appointment expired on 9th September, 2020.
Members of the Caretaker were seen at the front of the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs taking pictures. They equally drove to Alor pumping 21 rounds of canon-gun in celebration of defeating Ngige.
Another betrayal which Ngige ought to be regretting now is the refusal of the governor to issue a Certificate of Recognition to the Igwe-Elect of Alor. Many of us have been watching with keen interest how Gov Obiano will deal with the latest news coming out of Alor on the fallout of the ill-fated Abuja trip by the 12 suspended traditional rulers in Anambra State.
Apparently taken a cue from Gov Obiano’s communities of Aguleri Otu and Mkpunando Aguleri that have since replaced their suspended traditional rulers respectively, the people of Alor community in support of Dr. Chris Ngige have crowned and presented a new monarch HRM, Igwe Ebele Collins Chukwumesili, Ezediohamma 111 of Alor to the state govt.
AIF MEDIA gathered that on the day ndi Alor went to Awka to present the new Igwe to the governor with hope of being issued with the Certificate of Recognition, the governor dodged them and sent the SSG to meet with them. But he was on hand to receive the new Igwes from Aguleri and issued them with Certificates of Recognition.
The world is now watching to see if the governor will maintain consistency in his policy and do for ndi Alor what he did for his own people in the two communities in Aguleri.
AIF Media has maintained that this APGA govt is a betrayal. Ngige is now the latest victim. All those who worked for his re-election in 2017 were all betrayed.
There is no single stakeholder in Anambra state who worked for gov Obiano in his 21/21 victory that’s not regretting today. Let me name some of them;
From Ifeanyi Ubah to Stella Oduah to Ifeanyi Ibezi and even Victor Umeh are regretting. What of Obi Jackson, Ekene Enefe, Owelle Mbaso, Godson Ezenagu, Dr Godwin Maduka including Iyom Bianca Ojukwu. It has been from one disappointment to another.
I hope you are also aware that some of the Catholic Bishops are not happy with APGA govt. Evanglist Ejike Nwachukwu who coordinated all the pentecostal churches and their pastors for Obiano 2021 left the party angrily.
The height of the betaryal was the duping that took place in 2019 APGA primaries. Despite the protests and demands for Ozo Victor Ike Oye to refund and resign including the famous email from Senator Victor Umeh, the governor looked the other way.
Dr Chris Ngige should return to Arthur Eze and begin to form a formidable opposition. Nwoke Houston does not respect pacts and do not reward good deeds.
