Anambra Market Exco Marks One Hundred Days in Office, Recovers Over Eight Hundred Thousand Naira.

Leaders of Grain Seeds Market Association, Onitsha have reiterated the desire of the market Executives to block all loopholes where market funds are siphoned. They further stated that revenues from the market would be used for the overall development of the market to boost business activities.

Stating this while addressing major stakeholders during the celebration of One Hundred Days in office of the present Caretaker Committee Chairman, Onitsha Grain Seeds Market Association, Prince Charles Ikegwuonu disclosed that eight hundred and sixty thousand naira which was recorded by his administration on assuming office on May this year would be channeled for continuous development of the  market.

The market boss who is also Onitsha North Local Government Auditor of APGA, however, observed that unnecessary wastage of market funds have been stopped.

While enumerating his achievements under the new executives, Prince Ikegwuonu said evacuation of heaps of refuse within the market premises, demarcation of tomato site, recovery of market funds, naming of market lines for easy identification were among his achievements.

He further revealed that through the intervention of the market executives, the state Commissioner for Commerce, Trade and Wealth Creation, Uchenna Okafor has promised to donate an electricity transformer to the market in no distant time.

He, however, commended the state Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, Uchenna Okafor, ASMATA President General, Ikechukwu Ekwegbalu and Idemili ASMATA Zonal Chairman, Anthony Onwuetiaka for their support and assistance to the new executives.

Speaking at the event, Secretary of the association, Venatus Okoli and immediate past Chairman of Grain Seeds Market, Godwin Okonkwo pledged their support to the market leadership and urged other traders to identify with the development strides of the market leaders.
