ANAMBRA POLICE COMMISIONER ENDORSE CAMPAIGN AGAINST CRIME INITIATIVE

The Commisioner of police, Anambra State Command, CP John Abang has commended the Campaign Against Crime Initiative for it’s advocacy in dissuading youths from Criminal activities.
The Anambra State Police Helmsman made the commendation when the Campaign Against Crime Initiative group led by it’s Convener and Director General, Amb Timothy Nwachukwu, Comrade Ifeanyi Ubah Deputy National Coordinator, Comrade Somtochukwu Adirika Director of Records, Advocate JC Miracle, Director of Creative Media, Advocate Jessica Francis, Director Public Relations paid his a courtesy visit in his office in Awka.
Amb Timothy Nwachukwu in his opening remarks informed the Police Boss of the far reaching activities of the group which include Media Sensitisation on various Television and Radio Stations in the state, Sensitisation Walk Against Crime among others and it’s resolve to ensure that the youths are discouraged from engaging into crime and criminalities.
He stated that the group was burdened by the continuous arrest of the future leaders of tomorrow who engage into crime and thus opined that if youth involvement into crime must be reduced to its barest minimum, that a concerted youth led effort is required to redirect the youths from criminality.
He outlined the areas of focus for the group to include Campaign Against Cyber crime and internet fraud, Cultism, fake news, rape, violence, child trafficking among others.
While responding to the group, CP John Abang, The Commisioner of police, Anambra State lauded the group for it’s efforts in complementing the security agencies, noting that security is the duty of all and sundry and should not be left for the security agencies alone.
The police Boss stated that the campaign focus of the group is in consonance with the issues confronting the command and further advised the group to partner with traditional institutions to ensure that their message gets to the various communities in the State.
