Anambra Security Forces Storm in Amaokpala ,Dismantles Criminal Hideout, Recover Hard Drugs And Cash

A joint security operation carried out by police officers from Oko Divisional Headquarters and AVG operatives in Amaokpala dismantled a criminal hideout at Umudike village, Amaokpala, Orumba North Local Government Area, on Thursday night, January 25, 2025. Acting on intelligence reports, the raid occurred at approximately 10:30 p.m.
SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the police public relations officer, Anambra State Command revealed this in a press release issued to the newsmen in Awka, stated that the items recovered in that criminal hideout includes; a significant quantity of substances suspected to be hard drugs, two mobile phones, and ₦73,150 in cash, believed to be proceeds from drug sales.
According to SP Ikenga, the suspects, described as fierce-looking criminals, fled into nearby bushes upon sighting the security team.
He also said that the operatives promptly took over the scene, destroyed the criminal camp, and launched an offensive operation to apprehend the fleeing suspects and prevent their regrouping elsewhere in the state.
He reaffirmed the Command’s unwavering commitment to eliminating criminal activities and maintaining public safety across the state.
