The Commissioner of Women and Children Affairs, Lady Mrs Ndidi Mezue, Ada Dioramma , was moved to tears as she visited, in an undisclosed hospital, Onitsha, the three kids rescued from one Rejoice Raymond and her aged mother Chidi Felicia Nwafor last week on 19th February, 2021, in a raid carried out by policemen attached to 3-3 Police station, Nkwelle.

Arriving at the special ward were the kids are being given medical attention and taken care of, Lady Ndidi Mezue, expressed shock at the level of inhuman treatment the children were subjected to, as they had scars, with fresh bruises from a purported infliction meted on them.
The doctor on call appraised the Commissioner on the extensive and prompt medical attention given to the kids so far since they were admitted, as Lady Mezue emphasised that such report will guide the Ministry on when it will be safe to move them.
The kids were beginning to show sign of life except for the girl among them, gift, who according to the Doctor, was said to sustain fracture in her arm but will be taken care of.
With the case now transferred to the State CID, Awka, Lady Mezue has assured that the case will be given the much accelerated hearing and everyone involved will face the law, as the State Government, through the Ministry will continue fight child abuses in Anambra.
For Jeff, Ikechukwu and Gift, the visit of the Commissioner brought gleams of hope, after the torturous experience they were exposed to at their tender age.
Some change of clothes and enough provisions to sustain them during their time at the hospital, to aid their quick recovery. Also, a special nurse from the Ministry was assign to them, to look after them.
Before the visit, the Commissioner had earlier stopped at the 33 Police Station Nkwelle, as she met with the CSP Bawa Sale, appreciating him and his men for their conduct and prompt response.
