If you are very conversant with the major streets in Awka, most especially Aroma and Eke Awka axis, this mentally deranged man has been one familiar face that has terrorised passers by, hawkers and roadside shop owners alike.
Today, marks the end of the road for him, as he was rounded up by the task force of the Anambra State Ministry of Women Affairs.

The Anambra State’s Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, has apprehended a notorious and violent mentally challenged man, who roams naked harassing passersby at Aroma area of the capital city.
Applying minimal force, the team of social workers in line with best practices, subdued the middle age man, before bundling him away to Nteje home for the Mentally challenged for rehabilitation.
Speaking after the removal, the Anambra State Commissioner for Women and Children Affairs, Lady Ndidi Mezue, expressed relief that the man who has been a nightmare to people in Aroma neighborhood especially women, have been removed from the the streets.
“My happiness is that we have succeeded in removing this young man from the streets, I am assuring you that he will be rehabilitated and reunited with his family” she said.
