Anambra Women Affairs Commissioner Assists A Begging Single Mother To Send Children Back To School

Anambra Women Affairs Commissioner Apprehends a Begging Single Mother, Assist her Children Back to School.

Anambra State Commissioner for Social Welfare Women and Children Affairs, Lady Ndidi Mezue, has on Monday, 24th May, 2021 assisted two, children age seven and five being use for begging, back to school in Awka.

The children’s mother was apprehended by the Honorable Commissioner, on Friday 21st May 2021, at Stanel Mega Station Awka, where she was using her three under age children to seek for alms from members of the public, on enquiry the middle aged woman, who was married but now divorced to an Oyo State native, confessed that she needed to pay some school bills for the children, hence her reason for using them to seek for alms.

Lady Mezue , on hearing the pitiable plight of the mother of six, requested the woman to return today being Monday so she can assist her to clear the Children’s school bills.

Consequently, the Honorable Commissioner true to her words, personally took the children to an undisclosed school in Awka and cleared their bills, she further made some other donations to the children including school bags and other financial assistance to their mother so she can start a small business to be able to cater for her children.
