Former Vice-president Atiku Abubakar has congratulated President of the Republic of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, on his re-election,
Atiku who sent his congratulatory message to the Ghana president on his verified Twitter handle on Thursday, said the smooth conduct of the Ghana elections should be an eye-opener to Nigeria.
The former vice-president urged Nigeria to undertake far-reaching electoral reforms that address the shortcomings of Nigeria’s previous experiences and strengthens it electoral process.
Akufo-Addo, who ran under the platform of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), polled 6,730,430 votes to defeat his main challenger — former President John Mahama and candidate of NDC — who secured 6,214,889 votes.
