Awka North Endorses Senator Umeh For 2023 Senatorial Election
Says….replica of Senator Umeh is needed in the entire Senatorial Districts in Anambra and South East.
The Stakeholders of Awka North Local Government Area led by Chief Hon. Chikodili Anara on the 20th of February played host to Senator Dr. Victor Umeh OFR (Ohamadike Ndigbo, Ogbatuluenyi Awka North) in Amanuke where they reassured him of their continued support and as well urged him to harken to the request by ndị Anambra Central and ndị Igbo in general asking him to contest the 2023 Senatorial Election.
Speaking on behalf of the people, the Political Leader of the Local Government Area, Hon. Chief Chikodili Anara ( Igbakigba) noted that Senator Victor Umeh is a friend of Awka North and has been extraordinarily benevolent to them individually and collectively. He further emphasized that Anambra Central experienced unprecedented qualitative representation during the era of Senator Umeh’s Service in the Senate and in addition to his eloquent, courageous and unreserved representation of ndị Igbo in the Plenaries, he attracted valuable projects to all the communities in Anambra Central including those in Awka North as well as scholarships for their students and thereby declared that for ndị Igbo to achieve their deserved position in Nigeria, Senator Victor Umeh should return to the 10th Senate Assembly and his kind replicated in all the Senatorial Districts in Anambra and Igbo land in general.
Moving a motion of Endorsement on the Candidature of Senator Umeh for the 2023 Senatorial Election, the former representative of Awka North Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Prince Boniface Okonkwo (Owelle Amansea) urged Senator Umeh not to be discouraged by the unfortunate and unsupposed incident whereby the position is being contested even by those who ordinarily should be drumming his support thereby declared 100% support of Awka North for his Election and urged him to declare intention to contest the Election without further delay.
The motion was seconded by an erstwhile House of Assembly Member representing the Local Government Area, Rt. Hon. Mrs Rebecca Udorji (Paragon).
Nevertheless, the Traditional Rulers present, HRH Igwe Chijindu Ezebuilo (Igwe Ogbu Odudu II of Amanuke); HRH Igwe Ernest Ezekwesili Maduagwuna (Ofemili I of Awba-Ofemili) and HRH Igwe Samson Chimakwa (Igwe Ugbene) delightedly poured Royal Blessings on Senator Umeh and declared confidence that when elected into the 10th Senate, he will perform exceedingly well and augment for the loss of ndị Anambra Central and ndị Igbo in the present dispensation.
Senator Umeh who arrived the venue in the company of the State Vice Chairman of APGA (Anambra Central), Chief Sir Theophine Nnoli; the National Chairman/Convener of Movement for Good Governance and Conscience (MGGC), Hon. Comrd. Sir Uche Egbebuike (Gbazue Igbo); the Chairman of APGA Aguluzigbo Ward, Hon. Sir Justice Emmanuel Ibeabuchi ; Chief Vincent Ezewuzie (Ozomma), Hon. Chijioke Ifekpolugo, Mrs Ngozi Asonibe, Mr Gerald Ikechukwu Ozoh, Mr Tochukwu Excel Anowai, Mrs Edith Uba etc. thanked the people for the warm reception accorded him and his entourage noting that the love expressed for him by the people of Anambra Central and the entire Igbo people who have been urging him to contest the Election is overwhelming. He assured them that he will at the end of the consultations, make a Statement on their demands.
He assured them that he is fully aware of the need for our people to have bold and effective Representation in the 10th Senate.
Recall that there have been ceaseless clamours for Senator Victor Umeh to return to the Senate and continue the good work against the downturn of things following the outcome of the 2019 Elections. Some of the groups that have led such demonstrations are the MGGC group led by Comrd. Sir Uche Egbebuike, the Members of Inter-Party Advisory Council of Nigeria (IPAC) and members of Igbo Community in Ivory Coast led by Chief Silas Ezike as well as the Clarion Call by Anambra Central Stakeholders held on the 27th of January in Awka.

Nchekwube Anthony (Dunga), the Chairman of APGA in Awka North, Hon. Chimezie Ikwunne, former Executive Chairman of Awka North, Hon. Cosmas Okonkwo (Ezenwa Isuaniocha), Barr. Ekemezie Obidigwe (Ekwuje-Kwuje), former APC House of Reps Candidate for Awka North and South Federal Constituency, Hon. Emma Nweke (Nwachinemelu Awka), past TC Chairmen of Awka North, Hon. LawrenceOnwuzuka(Akpaka Achalla) and Hon. Nebenanya (Ezeaputa Ugbenu), the Woman Leader of Awka North, Hon. Mrs Ngozi Ikeyina , Hon. Charles Okadigbo (Okanumee Achalla), the Coordinator of All Soludo Support Group in Awka North, Hon. Alex Odiegwu and a major political Stakeholder Arc Paul Okafor, Dr Ikechukwu Oforkansi- Former Deputy Local Government Area Council Chairman and Deputy President ASATU.
