Boxing Talent Hunt Award Ceremony 2022: Mazi Okoronkwo Presents Awards To 17 Youths

The Action committee on sports literacy presents grand finale of speaker Enugu state house of assembly grassroot boxing talent hunt in the 17 LGAs of Enugu state ceremony award.

The ceremony which took event on Thursday 2nd March 2023 at the Boxing Council of Enugu state ended in praise.

Speaking during his welcome address, Mazi Ikechukwu Okoronkwo, ex international boxer, and coordinator of the grassroot boxing talent hunt exercise welcomed everyone present.

Furthermore, he expressed fulfillment that he was proud to have raised 17 Youths representing 17 LGAs in Enugu regardless of the fact that Enugu government is not interested in boxing. He maintained that Enugu state, Boxing exercise has been the only game that have gone far as 3 bronze medals were gotten in Enugu only from boxing exercise in the just concluded sports festival held in Asaba.

lamenting bitterly Mazi Okoronkwo said that the carefree attitudes of the government towards this particular sport have generally shown that there are so many sports talents in the youths which remained unhunted, undiscovered and idol as government cared less about skills and talents of the youths towards sports, forgetting that hunting for these talents help in creating useful skills out of the youths, self defense and other benefits.

He hereby concluded by calling on the international bodies to locate these trained boxers for further trainings and signings and Enugu commissioner for youth and sports to give these youths hand shakes atleast as this can be a source of encouragement

The boxers displayed little of their talents to the quests present after which 4 among these 17 youths selected from the grassroot talent hunt exercises conducted by Mazi Ikechukwu Okoronkwo in the 17 LGAs of Enugu state received their international passports aside #10000 cash rewards (Transfer) slated to be given to all the 17 youths representing the 17 LGAs in Enugu.
These transfers were duly received as confirmed by the boxers.

This is to show that the boxers are fully ready at National and International level, as these international passports was single handedly sponsored and financed by Ex international boxer, Mazi Ikechukwu Okoronkwo.
