Bridgehead Market, Onitsha and Oraeri Market, in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra are set to clash in the football finals of the 2024 Anambra Traders Sports Competition.

The match which will hold at the Awka Township Stadium on Saturday, Dec. 7 will bring the competition to an with a closing ceremony.

Bridgehead Market booked a place in the final after defeating their Nnobi Amalgamated Traders team 2-0 in the semifinal decided at the Chuba Ikpeazu mini stadium Onitsha.

Nnobi Amalgamated Traders boys will there place for the third and to fourth positions in the third place match which will be decided by 12 noon on the same day.

Emeka Obidimma, Director of Sports and Head of the Technical Subcommittee of the Traders Sports Competition said the grand finale encounters promised to be an epic showdown.

He said prize presentations to winners and closing ceremony would commence after the two matches as winners had been decided for other four events featured in the competition.

In draught, Eke-Oyibo won gold through Valentine Ozoagu who beat Okechukwu Okolo of Nkwo Umunze Market Umunze while Abuchi Ogidi of Bida Market Onitsha finished third to pick up bronze.

In table tennis, Chigozie Akabuike of Bida Market Onitsha won gold after beating Ononuju Ahanonu of Agbaedo Motor Parts Nnewi while Chigozie Nwafor of Motor Tyre/Tube Dealers Market Nkpor got bronze.

Emeka Emewulu of Bridge Head Market Onitsha won gold in Tennis, Fidelis Anierobi of Agbaedo Nnewi won silver while Albert Anele of Odera Market, Awka won bronze.

Eke-Oyibo market also won gold in Ncho through Emeka Okoye who defeated Chinwe Nwacha of Aluminum Market, Onitsha while Esther Nzeka of Nkwo Umunze Market Umunze snatched bronze.
