Buhari To Sign Nigeria’s 2023 Budget Appropriation January 3 – Lawan
Reports had it that the Senate President regretted that the signing was coming in a bit later than that of the 2022 which was signed on December 31 2021.
President Muhammadu Buhari will sign the 2023 appropriation bill on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, disclosed on Friday.
Lawan, who held a closed-door meeting with the President at the State House, Abuja, for hours told state house correspondents that he also discussed Buhari’s recent additional loan request and the 2023 appropriate bill.
Reports had it that the Senate President regretted that the signing was coming in a bit later than that of the 2022 which was signed on December 31 2021.
He noted that while the National Assembly looks forward to the presidential assent on the first work day of the New Year, Lawan explained that the delay in the passage of the bill was due to some anomalies in the figures presented to NASS.
SaharaReporters earlier reported that Lawan held a close-door meeting with Buhari.
The meeting took place in President Buhari’s office at the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja.
It was reported that Senator Lawan who arrived at the State House a few minutes before 3pm, was expected to discuss Buhari’s loan request as well as other ancillary issues regarding the 2023 appropriate bill.
