Chelsea have suffered a fresh blow in their pursuit of Moises Caicedo from Brighton this summer.
Chelsea’s hopes of bringing Caicedo from Brighton have ‘reached an impasse’, according to the Guardian.
Caicedo is Chelsea’s top midfield target for this summer transfer window but their latest offer of £70 million was rejected by Brighton.
Chelsea are preparing a new bid of £80 million plus add-ons but Brighton are adamant that the Ecuador international will not be sold for less than £100 million – unless the Blues are willing to let Levi Colwill move in the other direction as part of a swap deal.
But Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino is not willing to lose Colwill and believes the youngster will become one of the best centre-backs in the English Premier League.
