Wednesday, December 11, 2024, will forever be remembered in the history of the Building Materials International Market, Ogidi, Anambra State, as Chief Jude Nwankwo, the President General of the market, received a grand honor during the market’s 2024 end-of-year prayer meeting.
The Anambra State Markets Evangelism Coordinators Committee (ANSMECC) elevated Chief Nwankwo to the position of patron, recognizing his outstanding leadership qualities, unwavering support for the less privileged, and dedication to spreading the gospel. This honor made him the first non-clergyman among the group’s esteemed patrons.
Speaking during the event, ANSMECC State Coordinator, Bro. Silvanus Analike, praised Chief Nwankwo for his contributions to evangelism and his tireless efforts to uplift the poor and needy. “Chief Nwankwo is a beacon of hope and an exemplary leader. His initiatives have made the Building Materials International Market one of the most peaceful and prosperous markets in the state. His love for evangelism and commitment to welfare are worthy of emulation,” he stated.
The plaque was presented to Chief Nwankwo as a mark of recognition, with ANSMECC noting that his inclusion alongside distinguished clergymen like His Grace, Most Rev. Dr. Valerian Okeke, Rt. Rev. Ephraim Ikeakor, and Rev. (Major) John Okpalaiheadi highlights his extraordinary contributions.
Chief Nwankwo expressed his gratitude and humility, attributing the market’s successes to its foundation in God. He pledged to continue his dedication to evangelism and to further improve the lives of traders and their families.
The event also featured special recognitions as Chief Nwankwo honored four trader couples for their exemplary lifestyles and dedication, encouraging others to follow their footsteps for the betterment of the market community.
Earlier in the prayer rally, Rt. Rev. Ik Egwuonwu, Bishop of Oji River Diocese, commended the market’s tradition of putting God first, attributing their success to their faith-based initiatives. He urged other markets to adopt similar practices.
The rally brought together traders, clergymen from various denominations, market leaders, and gospel artistes, culminating in a celebration of faith, leadership, and community spirit.
