The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has confirmed that talks are ongoing with Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro over a new contract.
Peseiro’s previous contract with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) ended last month.
The Portuguese have been reportedly offered a pay cut to remain in charge of the three-time African champions.
The former Saudi Arabia and Venezuela coach is also said to be willing to accept the fresh condition.
Technical director of the NFF, Augustine Eguavoen hinted that Peseiro remains in charge of the Super Eagles.
“At the moment, he is in charge, we are discussing in-house and we are giving him conditions as well,” Eguavoen told reporters at the end of the first FIFA Instructor’s Course held in Abuja.
“We are flexible, so it could be suitable for both sides and once we reach a common ground, why not?” He added.
Peseiro is expected to be in the dugout when the Super Eagles take on Sao Tome and Principe in their dead rubber 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in September.
