Crisis In Orumba South, As TC Chairman Allegedly Loots Govt Property

Heavy crisis is brewing in Orumba South LGA as the Transition Committee chairman, Hon Cyprian Okereke(Ogbuehi-Turuagwa) is being accused of looting the govt property and selling off some.

A source told APGA Interactive Forum (AIF Media) that the TC chairman is afraid of the incoming disruptive change administration of Prof Soludo and had decided to help himself by looting govt property in his care.

AIF Media investigation reveals that the TC chairman allegedly sold the 100, 000 litres water tank and its stand in the local govt headquarters at Umunze.

The water project from our investigation was provided by the administration of Chief Ben Oranusi when he was the LG chairman of Orumba South LGA. When AIF Media contacted Oranusi, he said he had called the TC chairman and that he confirmed removing the water tank and its stand.

Oranusi said the water tank and its stand cost about 50 million naira presently.

AIF Media gathered that ndi Umunze are furious over the removal of the water tank by the TC chairman. The President General, Umunze and a former Youth Leader are said to be fuming and have asked the TC chairman to return the water tank and its stand to avoid public protest.

It is unfortunate that while the staff and residents of the LGA are expecting the govt to provide portable water for them, the leaders are looting the water facilities provided by the previous administration.
