Election: IGP Distributes Over 200 Operational Vehicles For Security

In preparation for gubernatorial elections in Bayelsa, Imo, and Kogi states scheduled for November 11, 2023, the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has ordered the distribution of 220 operational vehicles.

The vehicles released to the states includes water cannons, armored personnel carriers, helmets, bulletproof vests, and tear gas canisters, for security management

This is part of efforts to ensure a smooth election process.

The police officers involved have received training, and the Federal Government has been requested to provide allowances and necessary support to boost their morale during the operations.

The IGP also called on stakeholders in the three states to maintain peace and uphold the rule of law during and after the elections.
