Enugu Deputy Governor clears air on COVID-19 palliative

The Deputy Governor of Enugu State and Chairman Enugu State Palliative Committee, Hon. (Mrs) Cecilia Ezeilo, has spoken on the controversy surrounding the Enugu State’s CACOVID-19 palliative earlier stocked at Queens School ,Enugu, saying they had longed been distributed.
In a broadcast , Ezeilo said, that she was speaking in her capacity as the chairman of the COVID-19 Palliative Committee , Enugu State. According to her, the Coalition Against COVID-19 (CACOVID) handed over the palliatives comprising of food items to their committee on Wednesday, 5Th of August ,2020, at Queens school, Enugu in the presence of the State Governor, Rt. Hon (Dr) Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.
The Deputy governor said that the items earlier stocked at Queens as a storage location were evacuated and the hall used for WAEC examinations. ” No CACOVID-19 Palliative was in stock at Queens School Enugu. The palliatives were distributed on 10th August, 2020 to the 17 Local Government Areas of Enugu State,”
Ezeilo said.
She added that there was no palliative in custody of Enugu State government else where in the state. , stressing that Enugu State government is committed to the peace and progress of the people of Enugu State.
Members of the committee she said were, the Speaker of Enugu State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Edward Ubochi, representatives of Civil Society Organisations, representatives of Code of Conduct Bureau among others.
