Enugu East LGA receives Shedrack Ozoemena the only male boxer from South East that won bronze medal in the National Sports Festival

The atmosphere of Enugu East LGA was turned into a light and expression of joy at the arrival of Shedrack Ozoemena Chukwuebuka the son of Enugu East LGA who won the bronze medal at 22nd National Sports Festival held at Abeokuta Ogun State from 16th to 30th May 2025.

Shedrack AKA “the bull” was discovered by Mazi Comr Ikechukwu Okoronkwo during the Grassroot boxing talent hunt he conducted in the 17 LGAs of Enugu state.

On Tuesday, 3rd June, at the office of the chairman Enugu state LGA, Hon.Engr. Pastor Beloved Dan Anike, Shedrack Ozoemena, led by the coordinator of speaker, Enugu state house of assembly boxing talent hunt, Mazi Comr Ikechukwu Okoronkwo (Ikemba) and Hon Ameachi Obiakalusi.
Supervisor for Legislative matters/Youth and Sport development Enugu East LGA was presented to the Chairman Enugu East LGA.

In his speech, the Chairman Enugu East LGA Hon.Engr. Pastor Beloved Dan Anike expressed gladness on the fact that the only male medalist in the just ended National sports festival in Ogun state is from Enugu state and Enugu East LGA precisely.

He thanked the Enugu state Governor and the speaker for this boxing talent hunt opportunity, and as well the Coordinator of the programme, Mazi Ikechukwu Okoronkwo and all those who in anyway had contributed to this huge success.

The Enugu East Chairman supported the young boxer, Shedrack Ozoemena with the sum of #500,000. He further pledged to support the growth of this program in his local govt area by providing boxing ring for training.

In appreciation, Mazi Ikechukwu Okoronkwo, ex international boxer and coordinator of the boxing talent hunt in Enugu state thanked the Chairman and expressed appreciation on-behalf of the young boxing medalist Shedrack Ozoemena.

The cup and boxing belt was also presented to the Chairman.
