Ex international boxer urges South East indigenes to distance from proposed protest

The Nigerian Ex international boxer and Ambassador for sports boxing, Mazi Comr Ikechukwu Okoronkwo has urged South-Eastern zone not to participate in the earlier call for peaceful protest against Tinubu govt.

Mazi Okoronkwo said this on Thursday through a whatsapp message sent to Chrysora Media following Gumi’s call for peaceful protest against Tinubu’s government.

Recall that Islamic Cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi has urged Nigerians to engage in a peaceful protest against President Bola Tinubu’s government. Gumi called on Nigerians to engage in peaceful protests as a means of conveying their grievances to the government.

In reaction, Mazi Okoronkwo wrote;

Mazi Comr Ikechukwu Okoronkwo call on Igbos not to be lured into protest that will undermine democracy.

We, at the southeast Nigeria have antidote against hardship so we will not join any protest that will undermine democracy

It is stated clearly in Nigeria National anthem that in brotherhood. we stand.therefore if our region declined interest in planned national protest. it will be better for the nation democracy.

We Igbos have put our Trust in our God and will wait on God to bless our Nation.
