Mazi Ikechukwu Okoronkwo Nigeria Ex International Boxer is calling on FGN to capture/Include Sports youth and senior secondary school students( expecially drop out) on 774,000 Youth Empowerment project for three months payment meant to cushion the affect of COVID19 in Nigeria.
Nigerians are aware that Sports and Schools are the worst hit by this lockdown.
There are Sports youths/athletes male and Female whom had worked very hard believing that after National Sports Festival/Edo 2020 that they will get employment through their Skills in Sports, but this Lockdown has partially damaged their dreams of means of livelyhood and Hope.
Therefore to cushion the affect of Covid19
The Dividends of Democracy demands to include Youth/athletes that Participated in Preparatory Vision 2020 National Sports Festival Tagged Edo 2020 .
Starting from
(1) 774 LGA participants during Various Grass Root Sports Talent Hunt exercise conducted in each LGA
(2) From State Trial at Various Sports Councils of each State
(3) Athletes that participated in Zonal Ball games elimination at Zonal level organized by Federal Government
(4) Athletes that qualified to Represent various States of Nigeria which thier Names were captured by Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports wherein The Minister of Youth and Sports Hon Sunday Dare is aware of their Accredition and Registration as participating athletes and officials for the postponed 2020 National Sports Festival Tagged Edo 2020.
Most of this Youth/Athletes/ Officials are not Staff of any Government Agency; Therefore Ministry of Labour should at least include them for the benefits of patriotism.
It is important for Ministry of Labour to liaise with
(A) Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports,
(B) Various State Ministry of Youth and Sports.
(C) Supervisor for youth and Sports in all the 774 LGA.
In another development Considering the Senior Secondary School dropout Students.
The Ministry of Labour should also work with both
(i) Federal Ministry of Education.
(ii) Various State Ministry of Education
(iii) Chairman of 774 LGA’s.
To Capture the data of students particularly Senior Secondary School youth that dropped out due to the Frustration and Confusion from Covid 19 pandemic Lockdown.
For them to continue with normal life.
The above will help to boast Nigeria Security and Unity.
I call on Hon Minister of Labour Kayemo (SAN) to look into the suffering of the above mentioned people and consider the above as cogent reasons for thier inclusion.
Again I call on Legislators to also consider the above mentioned Youth from thier constituency and do justice.
Finally I called on President Buhari GCFR to intervene in the misunderstanding between His Minister for Labour and National Assembly to resolve it urgently since The both claimed that all of their actions is for National interest.
We Put Nigeria in the hands of Almighty God
